🏆 PTA REPOST*🏆 To celebrate National PTA Founders Day, our board spent the day touring around Gloversville Enlarged School District celebrating those members of our school community that make an impact on the lives of children every day and have gone above and beyond to give their time to helping the PTA this year. This year's recipients were as follows: 🎖 National PTA Life Achievement Award: The highest honor that can be given by the nation's largest child advocacy organization. Units like ours can nominate and award this honor to a person who daily lives out his or her commitment to children; their education, health, and well-being. Our financial contribution for this award has gone to the National PTA Endowment Fund, ensuring longevity of the association. This year, we have chosen Mary-Jo Lomanto 🎖 NYS PTA Honorary Life Member Award: This award recognizes individuals for their contribution to the welfare of children and youth. Our financial contributions for this award have been split evenly between the NYS PTA Teacher Fellowship For Graduate Study Fund and NYS PTA Scholarship Fund For Teacher Education. This year, we have chosen Lashawn Hawkins 🎖 NYS PTA Community Service Award: This award is given to a group of individuals in thankful recognition and gratitude for what they have achieved, giving their time, energy, and resources, on behalf of the children and youth in their school, community and/or state. This year, we have chosen Jen Hazzard and The GHS Key Club 🎖 Gloversville Elementary PTA Super Star Award: This award recognizes an individual who has gone above and beyond this year to volunteer their time. This year, we have chosen Lisa Gutta 🎖 Gloversville Elementary PTA Spirit of PTA Award: This award recognizes an individual who embodies the spirit of PTA; lending a helping hand enthusiastically and without hesitation. This year, we have chosen Jennifer Frasier 🎖 And we honored one of our own, Amanda Teetz, who has been involved in PTA for many years and has spent countless hours making magic happen all around the district in her various roles within PTA and serving on committees throughout the school.

Exploring History Through a Living Statue Museum! 🏛️✨ Scholars in Mrs. VanAlstyne’s 8:1:1 6th, 7th, and 8th grade class have been diving into the world of Ancient Egypt and influential figures of the 1920s and 30s! As part of their research, they’ve been learning to create slide shows, incorporate resources, and add transitions to their presentations. To bring history to life, each scholar chose a god or influential person and portrayed them in a Living Statue Museum on Friday, March 14th in the Gloversville Middle School Auditorium. What an incredible way to step into the past! 🏺📜🎭 #LivingStatueMuseum #BringingHistoryToLife #GloversvilleMiddleSchool
