The purpose of the GMS After School Enrichment Program is to offer students in grades 6-8 extended learning time (ELT) to increase school-wide learning opportunities in a high-quality extended school day. The Gloversville Middle School 2019-20, School-wide Comprehensive Education Plan or (SCEP) has chosen ELT as a part of the action plan to address deficiencies and improve student success rates in the areas of ELA, Math and Science.
By extending school-wide learning time it allows our school to provide students with more individualized instruction, more time for honing core academic skills, and more enrichment activities that make learning relevant and engaging. The GMS ASE Program is designed to run from 3-5pm and offer students academic support in a classroom setting in the four core subject areas of ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. Students will be provided with a snack and time will also be dedicated to providing students with activities that support social-emotional growth.
