📢 Celebrating Creativity and Emotion Through Art Ms. Krause is proud to share the nearly completed diptych paintings that the scholars have been passionately working on for the past three months. This year’s prompt was to convey emotion through color, and the team chose to explore the contrast between the innocence and brightness of childhood and the depression and dissociation of adulthood. When positioned together, the paintings create a powerful scene — an adult woman looking back on her childhood self. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged these scholars, offering time and space for them to bring their vision to life. Their dedication and talent truly shine through these remarkable pieces! 💛🎨

Mrs. Stryjek's 5th Grade Kid Wind Club went to Colonie Middle School Saturday to compete in the wind turbine competition. Three groups were in attendance: The Wind Games with Zaiden Salinas and Ravyn Lozo, The Wind Flower Power with Landon Rajter and Gabby Southworth, and Out of this Galaxy Turbine with Dominono DiGrazia and Addison Darling. At the competition they had to present their project in front of three experts, including teachers and engineers, followed by the actual running of their wind turbine in the tunnel two times to measure their Power Score. The Wind Flower Power group won an award for most creative wind turbine and they WOWed the judges with their idea of putting a Sunflower painted turbine in a sunflower field! The Out of this Galaxy Turbine had the most power of the three groups with 185.60396 milliwatts and scored the highest in their presentation to the judges! They took 4th place out of 7 Elementary teams from around the Capital Region. Great job to all teams and thank you parents for supporting STEAM in the schools!

🏆 PTA REPOST*🏆 To celebrate National PTA Founders Day, our board spent the day touring around Gloversville Enlarged School District celebrating those members of our school community that make an impact on the lives of children every day and have gone above and beyond to give their time to helping the PTA this year. This year's recipients were as follows: 🎖 National PTA Life Achievement Award: The highest honor that can be given by the nation's largest child advocacy organization. Units like ours can nominate and award this honor to a person who daily lives out his or her commitment to children; their education, health, and well-being. Our financial contribution for this award has gone to the National PTA Endowment Fund, ensuring longevity of the association. This year, we have chosen Mary-Jo Lomanto 🎖 NYS PTA Honorary Life Member Award: This award recognizes individuals for their contribution to the welfare of children and youth. Our financial contributions for this award have been split evenly between the NYS PTA Teacher Fellowship For Graduate Study Fund and NYS PTA Scholarship Fund For Teacher Education. This year, we have chosen Lashawn Hawkins 🎖 NYS PTA Community Service Award: This award is given to a group of individuals in thankful recognition and gratitude for what they have achieved, giving their time, energy, and resources, on behalf of the children and youth in their school, community and/or state. This year, we have chosen Jen Hazzard and The GHS Key Club 🎖 Gloversville Elementary PTA Super Star Award: This award recognizes an individual who has gone above and beyond this year to volunteer their time. This year, we have chosen Lisa Gutta 🎖 Gloversville Elementary PTA Spirit of PTA Award: This award recognizes an individual who embodies the spirit of PTA; lending a helping hand enthusiastically and without hesitation. This year, we have chosen Jennifer Frasier 🎖 And we honored one of our own, Amanda Teetz, who has been involved in PTA for many years and has spent countless hours making magic happen all around the district in her various roles within PTA and serving on committees throughout the school.

Boulevard Elementary School Strengthens Partnership with Gloversville Public Library Through Engaging Third-Grade Field Trip Third-grade students from Boulevard Elementary School recently participated in an enriching field trip to the Gloversville Public Library, reinforcing a strong partnership focused on literacy, learning, and community collaboration. During the visit, students embarked on a guided tour of the library, gaining insight into its vast collection of books, digital resources, and community programs. The experience also included a special storytime session, where students engaged in the joy of storytelling. Additionally, each student had the opportunity to receive a temporary library card, allowing them to explore and check out materials to continue their reading journey beyond the classroom. This collaboration between Boulevard Elementary School and the Gloversville Public Library underscores a shared commitment to fostering literacy and providing students with meaningful educational experiences. Through these partnerships, students gain access to valuable resources that support their academic growth and encourage a lifelong love of reading. “We are incredibly grateful for the continued partnership with the Gloversville Public Library,” said Brian DiPasquale, Principal of Boulevard Elementary School. “This field trip was a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with the library, develop their literacy skills, and see firsthand the resources available to them in their own community.” Boulevard Elementary School looks forward to continuing this collaboration, ensuring that students have the tools, experiences, and support needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
